Brett and Becky first met while hiking and their love story unfolded from there. Their love of the outdoors and adventure extended to the eclectic and mostly vegan menu they wanted to serve at their wedding reception (a perfect match for Upohar).
An Adventurous yet Approachable Menu
They selected an amazing menu: flavorful, colorful, and fun!
For appetizers we served Indian potato samosas, Polish pierogies, Puerto Rican empanadas, Iraqi hummus.
The dinner buffet included Greek chicken, Puerto Rican rice, and Cuban black beans with mango salsa.
They rounded out their meal with vegan cupcakes made by one of their close friends, which we set up while guests enjoyed their dinner.
A Casual Gathering surrounded by Nature
As a couple who cares about sustainability and wants to minimize waste, they chose the fully compostable rolled cutlery and sugarcane plates that we offer as part of our catering packages.
Their laid-back Quaker wedding and reception was held at a large pavilion at Lancaster County Park. Surrounded by nature, their family and friends gathered and told stories about the couple as part of their ceremony.

From first contact to saying farewell at the end of the wedding, Upohar World Kitchen was a fantastic partner in making our wedding a truly special day. Always responsive and organized, we knew we didn’t have to worry about anything when it came to the food being handled by Upohar at our wedding.
Let’s talk about the food because that’s the major part of any wedding! We did a tasting at Upohar to determine the menu and all of it was so good. So good that it was difficult to choose what to put on our menu, which is a good problem to have. With plenty of options for all diets, from GF to vegan, we wanted all of our guests to leave satisfied. Many of our guests let us know how much they loved the food afterward, which made us so happy because we certainly chose a more adventurous wedding menu than the typical wedding fare. The empanadas, rice and beans, plantains, chicken, and veggies paired together perfectly.
On the actual day of the wedding, Upohar’s team was early and got everything set up and ready without needing us, which was ideal. Everything went off without a hitch.
